Watchlist Update 5-5-08

All through time, people have basically acted the same way in the market as a result of greed, fear, ignorance and hope - that is why the numerical formations and patterns recur on a constant basis.

Amazingly, no stock on the Quazi ticker will get the “boot” today.   Instead, Quazimoto, after a restful weekend, has added yet another stock to the ticker.  PHYA is now on the list after it backed down from the huge spike a few days ago.  See my previous post on this volatile stock.  The ticker now includes a total of twelve stocks. Some of these have made tremendous gains since entering the Penny Stock Marketplace and there are many more that will continue to make massive moves.  Just keep in mind that picking the right stock is our job and trading the stock is yours. Don’t hesitate to take a little off the table. Pigs, as the saying goes, still get slaughtered.

All Aboard the Volume Train

Huge swings in price are the main reason speculators trade penny stocks.  Determining whether or not a price increase is real rather than mere price manipulation should be considered before entering a trade.  Timing your entry is just as important.  Many new traders tend to jump on hot stocks with little consideration for the fact that profit taking is occurring at the exact same moment.  This is called being on the wrong side of a trade.  One of the greatest advantages of mechanically trading through use of a stock screen is that emotion is left out of the equation. Of course, emotion is the primary reason many of these stocks make such large gains over a short period of time.  Take a look at Hall of Fame Beverage chart below (Stock Symbol: HFBV).  Here’s a stock that made incredible gains but the  volume is what caught my attention.  Volume of this sort cannot be ignored.  It doesn’t mean that the momentum will continue but it does reflect some sort of interest that, in turn, could fuel even more momentum.  Stock trading boards for these stocks begin to receive more traffic,as does the propaganda on the company website or the news ticker.  All are true for HFBV.  Let’s see if this one has the legs of SKNY.

Quazimoto, being non-human and emotionally “distant”, is crunching the numbers on a vast array of other microcaps and doesn’t have the time to get excited over anything that doesn’t fit his strict criteria…including HFBV.  Regardless, I think I can at least get him to fit this onto his ticker for a while.  Quazi does point out that if Hall of Fame Beverage wants to consolidate and form a bit of a base, he might just buy in.  Emotionless?…I’m beginning to wonder.

Zecco Trading Update

I recently received an e-mail from Zecco Trading.  This was a notice to inform me that Zecco is now going paperless. Account statements and trade confirmations can be received online.  This is long overdue and hopefully will save Zecco a ton of cash. Who knows, maybe Zecco will increase the number of free trades from ten to forty again.  Actually, forty trades is probably more than I would use in one months time so I would settle for twenty or so. How about it, Zecco?

Currently, after every trade I would receive a confirmation in the mail.  The postage would be at least 34 cents!  I almost felt guilty for making a trade.  Well, not really.  Anyway, this seems to be a step in the right direction.  The “no commission” trading idea does not seem to be catching on so the longer Zecco can keep this up the better.

For those of you that already have accounts, you might want to sign up for these paperless documents by May 30th.  If you do not, you will be charged $1.50 per paper trade confirmation starting June 1st and $2.00 per paper statement starting June 30th.

For those of you that are thinking about trading with Zecco, just click on that pink ad over on the left.  Yeah, that one.  Not only will you save a ton on commissions, you will also help support this awesomely informative blog.
